As the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 rose in the Czech Republic, it is satisfying to know that one of our colleagues, Marek Hlavacek, and his team, decided to create an app that could track the virus’s spread, and help slow its growth. In April 2020, they intended to hand the app to governmental authorities free of charge. Although in the end, the authorities decided not to proceed with the application in production mode, they received many well-deserved accolades on the BETA Version.
